I just started the diet on Friday. (I'm a "D" girl!!) I took Fiber-con on Friday, Saturday, and today, and have not had a BM, but have quite a bit of gas.
Since I used to use coffee to keep me regular, I'm thinking maybe my body is going into shock since I quit cold turkey??
I don't know what to do, and my want for coffee is sooooo strong, just because I know it will give me a BM, but I know I will pay for it dearly!! I know coffee is on my list of triggers since I have been feeling better without it!
What should I do? I've gone to the gym, taken fiber-con, etc etc?
Thanks everyone!

Try drinking more water, reducing your fiber-con intake, and gradually increasing. Also, try some probiotics in the a.m. and at night.
Good Luck!!!
Also, check out Heather's books, Eating for IBS, and IBS: The First Year. They are extremely helpful...

Also, if you're trying to ween yourself off of coffeee, try drinking some green tea. It doesn't have as much caffeine and some find it helps them give up the coffee.

Check this site on the forum search for great ideas for soy flavored coffees, natural and IBS safe. Heather recommends waking up with a herbal tea like chamomile or chai teas in her book, to try and break the coffee habit. I agree decrease your fibercon, but also remember if youreating soluble fiber you need to add a little insoluble fiber to your diet also, along with your fibercon and lots of water. Fiber supplements help you eat insoluble foods in moderation. Have a great Day!!
