I am wondering if anyone has experienced any of these fears.
1) While driving all of a sudden you have this urge that you need to use the bathroom NOW so you start speeding to get home.
2) Or the urge you need to get to a bathroom because you are in so much pain and need to get sick.
Well , I have.. and I keep imagining getting stopped by a police officer and trying to explain that you need to use the bathroom RIGHT NOW or you going to go in your pants. or get sick right on him (or her)
Is there anywhere that a bracelet can be purchase to designate that we have IBS. (like the ones that people have for diabetes, etc (to prove we are not doing it intentionally).

Great idea....but no...
We (the IBS Fall Sprawl Diva's) have periwinkle (the color for IBS) bracelets.....to help raise money for future IBS Fall Sprawls but they don't have anything "medical" on them.... I'm sure it would not get you out of a speeding ticket.... but they are cute!

Thanks. That was my first time posting a message. I had a heck of a time. I thought maybe I had it in the wrong place. Thanks for answering. I have read a few of your response and seen pictures of you and your hubby! You two are soooo cute together.
AS far as the bracelets (they need to do more research on IBS) I wonder how the people got the Diabetes braclets going. I can tell you when you are sick you are SICK and when you are driving you only want one thing! The Pain is so bad you just want to die. We should have something to explain our problem to the police in the event of this every happening.

The diabetes bracelets (or bracelets for any serious, life-threatening condition) are in existence because people with diabetes can die or have serious life-threatening consequences if medical personnel are not aware of the condition in an emergency. IBS can't kill you - that is why no such bracelet exists for us.
If speeding tickets concern you this much, maybe your doctor could write a note for you that you could keep in your wallet? Unfortunately, though - that won't excuse you from breaking the law....

I can't believe you have the same fears too! I think about that the entire time I am driving home early from work hunched over the steering wheel... Its so scary. Glad to know there are more like me out there.. Now that I carpool with my husband, he takes it the car to his job, and I am afraid of a days that I just need to leave QUICKLY and won't be able to. He's taken me home on his lunch break already.. oye! The bracelet would be cool:)
