I know I don't get on these boards enough...so much great information! But I still doubt if I even have IBS.

I finally had a colonoscopy done. My colon was darn near perfect. However, I did have gastritis in my stomach. So my question is does it matter if your colon comes back perfect or not in relation to IBS? Or could it possibly be the gastritis bothering me? (okay, that was two questions )

My colonoscopy came back clean, still waiting on the biopsy results. Nothing was wrong, so that just points to the fact that I have IBS & not something else. Or so the GI implied, per my BF-I was out of it afterwards! I honestly was hoping she would find something else, something "fixable" but oh well. But I assume that if they don't find anything wrong that means IBS is the only thing it could be. I may be wrong, just guessing.

Normal findings during colonoscopy is what typically leads to a confirmed IBS diagnosis.

yeah, something fixable would be nice.

These answers help. I'm going to definitely have one more area checked out though...probably in a few months. I'm 1/2 thinking...it's getting less all the time as I find out more answers...that it might have something to do with my female stuff. But...I'm so not sure. It probably just is IBS and I need to learn to control it.

My colon generally spasms for them but I don't think that is essential for an IBS diagnosis. Did you get pictures. I got really interesting pictures of my colon and esophogus. Full color! I am thinking of framing it and hanging it in the bathroom. Ha Ha.

LOL! Yes, I got pictures...full-color...but *sigh* they wouldn't match the colors of my bathroom, so I guess they won't get framed and posted.

Whatever you find out good luck! I'm trying to learn patience myself, learn to cope w/it. Just gotta keep trying until you find what works for you!
