It's 1 week before my colonoscopy, & I'm trying to prepare. But I don't understand how I'm supposed to handle the diet the day before. The GI gave me a list that says I'm supposed to drink one 8oz can of Ensure w/my breakfast (which is a small piece of chicken breast & toast, not much SF), and drink things like clear soft drinks, fruit juice (except cranberry juice-the only juice I drink now) or tea, for the rest of the day. In the evening I'm supposed to drink two 20oz bottles of Gatorade. Doesn't Ensure have some sort of dairy in it? It's also not good to have fruit juice on an empty stomach right (which it will be most of the day)? I can't tolerate soft drinks at all, and last but not least, isn't Gatorade a no-no for IBS? I'm so confused. I have plenty of different types of herbal tea so I'm not really concerned about what I CAN drink. It's what I'm SUPPOSED to drink that worries me.

I eat clear homemade chicken broth and Kraft Jell-o. I drank water and fennel tea. I did not eat any solid food. Oh and my IBS quieted down during that time

Ensure contains whey protien (a protien in milk).

As I recall some Gatorade contains HFCS - check the ingredients.
