Do you prefer Immodium AD or Immodium AD Advanced (d and gas relief)?

I have used both, dependant on sympstoms. The advanced I use when I'm really bloated with a lot of abdominal pain an seem to have alot of gas...and I'm out in public.

Immodium AD I use when I have an upset stomache and I can feel an attack coming on.

Both are good! If you have trouble with gas, you probably do want to try Immodium AD Advanced and see if it helps. It's a lot cheaper to get generic store brand immodium and generic store brand simethicone, though. That is what I do. However, if you don't want to pop multiple pills and don't mind the cost, Immodium AD Advanced is the way to go!

I previously had IBS with Constipation before I had my surgery to bypass blockages in my Aorta Artery in July. The blockages were in the tops of both of my legs and radiated out from the navel area to include bowel blockages and intestinal blockages. This was after 7 yrs of trying to understand and live with IBS. I changed my diet and learned to cook differently and was doing much better.

After the surgery, when my bowels started to work and my intestines were getting a good supply of blood, I began having severe diarrhea that was light tan in color, which my home nurse told me was because there was no bile in the intestine when the food was processing through. Thinking that maybe after 7 yrs of not working maybe the intestine and bowels were just not sure of what to do next. I had this fluid drive each time I went to the bathroom and found a medical report that stated that I was ok with the diarrhea if I was not having it more than 4 times a day. So the diarrhea has slowed to once or twice a day and I am hoping that after 7 yrs of not working that soon my intestines and other organs will find a happy medium.

At the present time I have found no relief from Immodium at all. Can anyone explain anything that may help me with the diarrhea, like foods that I can eat that may help aleviate the diarrhea, or other things that I might try.

The only other symptom that really bothers me is the terrible heartburn type of gas feeling, my stomach seems to be so full of gas or air that I have a difficult time catching my breath, get hiccups, have a burning sensation in the back of my throat, and bloating.

Now anyone who can put all these symptoms together and explain to me what I can do to at least get some where near better, I would be indebited to forever. I can not find any relief and need some help.

Thanks for any help any of you can offer,

Have you tried a Solible fiber supplement (like Acacia, Citrucel, etc)? I've seen people with D (on this board) say it helps them.
