Hey all, I am new at this and owe a hearty apology to all suffers. My lil sister has ibs and I always thought it could not hurt that bad. Boy was I wrong. Last night it was so bad that I thought I was going to go to the ER, but I suffered through and am at work today. My GI doc gave me some Pamine that I have used, not with much luck as last night suggests, and I have changed to Heather's diet suggestions. Two days going here. I guess I just want to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I know I hurt so bad sometimes. I have anxiety/panic attacks so the pain send me off the edge. I also have severe GERD and refuse to have the surgery for it, I control it with meds and diet. I have had the colonoscopy and the EGD and now the doc want to have a CT scan and blood work done. Any idea why he would have done them in this order? Also he says that he is "pretty sure" it is IBS but are all these tests necessary? I really freak at tests, think they are going to find cancer and send myself into a panic attack for weeks ahead of time. Anyway, thanks for what I'm sure will be lost of support

I love your subject! The people on this site are tremendously helpful. I'm pretty new and still learning about IBS so I can't really help you out. I do wonder why your blood tests are coming last when it probably should be first(?). Anyway, with Heather's diet and the acacia, you should start to feel better soon.

I can sympathize with you about the panic attacks before tests! But the tests are necessary to rule out other possible problems. I take Lorazapam for my panic attacks and that usually helps. But really if I've worked myself up it takes a sledge hammer to calm me down. Michael's Hypno CD's have really helped with the stress reactions. Good luck with the tests.......

My sister called it the poopie pants club, cause she has the D a lot. Kept a total change of clothes in her car along with other supplies at all time. Never left the house without it. Luckily??? I am not that mine since mine seems to be more pain than anything.
