Sounds more like Acid Reflux, which doesn't show up with a colonscopy. It is a good idea to talk to your Doctor about it.

I agree, it may be acid reflux, or GERD - gastroesophageal reflux disease. Since antacids are no-nos, you might try slowly sipping small amounts of cool water (not cold, not big swallows). If you've been taking any meds recently, like antibiotics or pain relievers, or eating / drinking peppermint or chocolate, these could be the reason. Stress can also bring these symptoms on. When you go for your colonoscopy, it would probably be a good idea to mention it to your GI doctor. Unfortunately, the meds that help the best for this (Prevacid or Prilosec) occasionally cause diarrhea. Also, the doctor would be interested in the lump in throat sensation - do you actually have any trouble swallowing? It's probably nothing, but it's worth mentioning to your doctor, especially if s/he can help you with a med you can tolerate. But try sipping water - it helps me.

I have acid reflux disease and i have got that feeling every once in a while (mainly after ate something acidic) average heartburn meds are Tums and Mylanta. be careful though, because tums can have a consipating effect and mylanta can have a laxative effect. im ibs-d, so i eat tums like candy (lol) anyway, i was diagosed with acid reflux disease after i had a upper endoscopy done and the doc said that my acid was tearing a my esophageous (whoa, thats not how you spell it!) anyway, she put me on prevacid, and im happy to say that it only caused one bearable attack. good luck to ya
