Jessica, yes, but they make supplements also and they are cheap and perhaps worth trying.
Papaya for one helps break down proteins, but it also has other good qualities and is very healthy for a peson.

speaking of papaya, i take papaya enzymes nightly. they aid in the digestion of food in the stomache -- and have made a big difference for me!

What effect does papaya have is a person is IBs-d prone?

If you check here, the are listed under Soluble Fiber as "Papayas (also digestive aids that relieve gas and indigestion)".
So, they're fine for C or D, just like the other soluble fibers.
