I've been using Heather's diet to stabilize my stomach as well as daily Citrucel. Most days I feel good but about once every 5 days or so I get an attack of cramps and diarrhea in the evening. When my IBS kicked up again a couple months ago, this wasn't happening and has only started in the past 4 weeks. I can't find any explanation because it's always after a safe meal and the same foods typically produce no problems. I was wondering if others have these random attacks and what works for others to avoid them.

Has anyone found Acacia to be more helpful than other fiber supplements at preventing attacks of diarrhea?

It is no better than any other soluble fiber supplement.

My MD told me to increase the fiber for the next three weeks. So last evening I increased accacia from 1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp AM/PM. Slept 6 hours, because of D problem. If this doesn't improve in 3 wks recommends I see a colon rectal doctor.
