I bought some peppermint Altoids to see if they help me with pain while I'm out. How effective are they? Is it ok to have lots of them thru out the day? They have 2g of sugar per serv size (3 pieces), corn syrup, gelatin and gum arabic.
Thank you !
Blessings, Abi

I use to use these all the time before I ate. I would just take one like a pill (swallow it whole with water). I think this is one of Heather's tips in her book, EFI, but I may be remembering that incorrectly. And it helped a lot. At most, I had 3 or 4 a day. They have a lot of peppermint oil in them so if you have any reflux issues, you probably shouldn't use them.

I use these and buy them ALL the time! They're great! Unlike many other peppermint candies, they aren't loaded with sugar and a generous amount of peppermint oil is used in them. I hope these work for you! FYI: Altoids also have ginger ones, if you didn't already know, which I find work great (maybe even better then the peppermint)! The problem is that I can't find them anywhere anymore.

Hi Abigail, there was a tip a long time ago about carrying peppermint altoids with you so that if you didn't have access to real peppermint tea, you could dissolve a peppermint altoid in water. I've done this before both in hot water and in room temp water. I don't notice much of a huge adverse affect, and most of the time there either no affect or a slightly soothing one, especially in the hot, humid heat. But altoids have caffeine too iirc and caffeine is an IBS trigger. Imho if you find that it helps you, sucking on a peppermint altoid or dissolving it in water now and then is probably okay from what I've read on here in the past. Just be careful and don't overdo them This is what I understood to be the case when I read about this a long, long time ago on Heather's site. You might want to try a search for it to see any old threads. Take care.

I chew them all the time while driving and while at work. They are a great help to get me through the days and nights at work.
