...and I am preparing a somewhat unsafe meal for my boyfriend, as it is a special occasion for us. I usually have C, but after an x-ray procedure I had done yesterday in which they made me drink tons of barium (chalky white substance) I took a laxative in order to get the stuff out of my stomach, and reduce the extreme bloating I was feeling all day. Huge mistake, because now I'm doubled over in pain, and in the bathroom every five minutes.

I have never taken Immodium before, but I am considering it just to get through the evening...what do you guys recommend? Are there any side effects (like constipation in the long term, etc) or will it pretty much just stop the attack? Any suggestions would certainly be welcome!

Thanks!

I take immodium regularly. I don't get constipated, but I'm a D and not prone to constipation. But if you're unsure, perhaps just take one pill and take it from there.

Good luck, I hope you are able to enjoy the dinner you're preparing.

I took your advice, and took a small amount of immodium before dinner, which helped stop the D, and the dehydration and weakness that I was experiencing. The dinner went quite well, except that of course afterward I was really bloated and gassy, which is definitely not the sexiest thing in the world when you are trying to have a romantic evening. But my boyfriend was really sweet and understanding...so everything worked out fine.
Thanks again for your help!
