Several people have now mentioned that clif bars have dairy - just wanted to point out that they don't! I can't vouch for every flavor but I often buy several of the flavors and none of them have dairy. HOWEVER I know someone who has ibs and absolutely can't handle barley malt which is in clif bars and a billion other things. How she figured this out I don't know.

Thanks for the interesting notation, hawkeye. Most of those nutrition bars I ever tried always contained something weird in them, whether it be dairy or another ingredient that triggered my IBS, plus sometimes some of them freaked me out *giggle* I mean I'm a texture person and it's really weird eating something like a Powerbar for example that looks like well... um, you know, poop ... and tastes all grainy.
It's taken me awhile now to pound into my head certain 'ingredient names' that should be deciphered as possible trigger foods (like fructose is bad) according to Heather. I wonder if I also had a similar problem with Clif bars as your friend did from one of the ingredients in them. Take care. Nice name, hawkeye. :P Am I incorrect in remembering it from Airwolf?? Sorry to pry, and sorry if my memory is horrible.
