Barium test....ouch!

Yesterday I had the barium x-ray test. The doctor said everything looks fine and normal, so that's step one on my road to definite IBS diagnosis.
I am in so much pain right now though! I was fine right after the test, but about 6 hours later, I had awful gas pain that extended all the way up my right side. I couldn't do anything but lie still. The pain woke me up this morning. I can hardly stand up. As soon as I do, I'm doubled over in pain.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
(  I'm also frustrated because I was just finishing a two-week cycle of bad symptoms and had had a few really good days before the test, so I thought I was finally going to feel good for a few more days!)

Ick, yes I remember feeling exactly what you're describing. I felt awful for 24 hours after the test.

The nurse told me that it would actually help constipate me a bit. By the end of the test, it was running its way out of me (IBS-D). For days and days and days and days....
My sympathies, dear.

i wasn't constipated afterwards... but I didn't get D which I usually had... I forget how many days I went to the bathroom and it came out white lol... but they told me everything was fine! I don't get it! How can everything be fine yet I cannot eat like a normal human  being???????
