what are the benefits of taking it? would it help at all with a gassy tummy? can anyone recommend a good one? either brand or contents. I'd prefer one that doesn't need to be refridgerated because I am not home that often and one that doesn't need to be taken 3 times a day.

acidophilus - and you might try doing a search for that, because I know there's been a lot of discussion about it in the past, and you might find your answer quicker that way, rather than waiting.

I don't have any experience with the stuff personally, I just know that the refrigerated brands are, unfortunately, the better ones to take - they're more potent, because heat can kill the bacteria. But that's all I know. Hopefully someone else will be more helpful, or you'll find the information you seek elsewhere on the site.
