i suffer with cronic diarrohea most days which means i spend all morning running the loo! and then all afternoon and evening thinking i need to go and nothing happens. i get the most horrendous stomach pains and most evenings i bloat up!
i am always nauseas and so cant face the thought of eating though i do force myself to eat because i know i have to.
this has been going on for nearly a year and i have lost 3.5 stone in weight i now only weigh 6 stone!
this past week i have had joint and muscle pain and been extremly lethargic.
my mum has found out by being sneaky (she works at the hospital and asked the secretary to read my notes )that my consultant is thinking of cronic untreated IBS and so i found this site and i am going to follow the diet and help myself get better!
do you get joint and muscle pain with IBS?
any help and advice would be greatly received
thanks
julie

You MUST get the testing done to rule out other illnesses. In the mean time you should follow the diet.

julievn--I have all over joint/muscle pain along with my bowel symptoms and have recently learned that a percentage of people who have IBS also have fibromyalgia (and vice versa). May be worth looking into, I am doing this for myself as well.

I've experienced the same symptoms whenever I had a bad day/or so with IBS. I heard the same thing about the fibro....,but I guess your internal med doc can test for that. I know that my all my joints bother me most with IBS.
