I recently bought some chocolate sorbet from Whole Foods. The ingrediets were all safe...but boy is my belly unhappy... anyone have any experience with this? I only ate a small amount. Then again, my belly is revolting recently. I am upping my acacia in hopes of getting my belly back on track, so it could be the upped dosage, who knows! Anyway, just curious about the sorbet!

My guess is that it was the chocolate. I cannot tolerate chocolate at all. It is horrible. Just a guess.

possibly...chocolate usually likes me, but with my belly anything seems to be possible. Just wondered if anyone tried this sorbet before...I got it from the sorbet/gelato counter!

This just happened to me last night. I ate a chocolate sorbet, from Safeway, and 3 hours later I was doubled over in pain and D. I didn't have that much pain in over a year, it was so awful! I didn't even eat that much, too. Only around half a cup. I'm still recovering right now, a day later. I think it was the chocolate. I'm never eating that again!

Hmmm...are you sure there wasn't any high-fructose corn syrup in there? Also, I know that there's some IBS'ers who are very sensitive to carageenan, which is in a lot of frozen products.

I know I had the Haagen-Daz chocolate sorbet a couple of times, and while my tum didn't completely despise me, it was at least annoyed with me. The Haagen-Daz stuff at least is just soooo rich, even if all the ingredients are safe. It tasted like cake batter. I think it's one of those "What time of the month is ?" things for me. If Aunt Flo is far away, chocolate sorbet is safe. If she's close, best be careful.

If it had all safe ingredients, maybe your body just doesn't do well with cold items. Cold can make your tummy spasm.
