Is it possible to eat too much when you're tired?
I notice that when I'm overtired I tend to eat to stay awake. Is this normal?
I get at least 7 hours of sleep a night...but it seems like I need 9 or more...which is hard to get these days! Any suggestions?
I also notice I over eat when I'm thirsty. Is this normal?
Thanks!!!
*hugs*

These I've never heard of, so I will be interested to see if anyone else is the same.

This one seems so blatantly obvious to me to either go to bed earlier or sleep later, so it makes me wonder if I'm reading the question wrong.

Finally, one I think I know! If you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. People confuse dehydration with hunger, so they eat when they should be drinking water. Make sure you're getting enough water throughout the day.

I do this too! When I am exhausted (and/or hormonal) is when I am most likely to overeat. I think it has something to do with seratonin levels. Your seratonin levels plummet when you're really tired, and things like bread and desserts boost them so you get a temporary high and feel more awake.
If you are getting 7 hours of sleep a night and are still tired, you might not be getting good, deep sleep. Do you wake up a lot during the night? You might want to see a sleep specialist -- they can help you figure out to get better-quality sleep.
Don't beat yourself up about overeating. It happens to all of us (certainly to me!), especially when we are tired and stressed.
Hang in there!
