Is it okay to take a probiotic with hot tea?

I've been taking mine this way for a year. After reading what Heather said about not taking peppermint capsules with hot liquids, it occured to me that maybe the hot tea is making the probiotic ineffective.

Any thoughts?

I think generally you should not be taking any medication or supplements and probitoics with hot beverages. The heat tends to kill of the effectiveness of what you are taking.

I don't know why it just occurred to me to realize this is probably not a good idea! I think I wasted lots of money on probiotics by killing them with the hot tea.

I'll have to take my tea first, then take the probiotic after I drink the tea. How long should I wait after drinking the tea? Do you think that would be okay? I seem to need tea first thing in the am!

Do you think you can manage taking your probiotics about 1/2 hour before meals?

I was thinking I would wake up and have my peppermint tea with my Miralax, then about 30 minutes later, take the probiotic and Peppermint capsule. Wait 30 minutes and then eat.

At night, I usually drink right up until the time I take the probiotic, then wait 30 minutes before eating.

Does that sound okay? What's your routine, Gracie?

I think that sounds good.

With my routine, I take it in the morning when I get up, then head out for a 30-45 minute drive to work, then I eat my breakfast at work. Then I take a second dose at night about 1-2 hours after eating.
