Maybe I misunderstood you, but 2 fruits and 2 vegetables a day doesn't sound like enough IF or food to me. I think that's a good start, and I know you're working to incorporate more IF into your diet, but in the long run it just doesn't seem like enough.

I'm a D and I eat about 4-5 vegetables and two fruits a day - and I still feel like I need to incorporate more veggies and fruit.

I know what you are going through. And -although Heather recommends all those "starchy" foods to soothe the bowel - it can also block the bowel from my experience - especially if too much is eaten. Now it is necessary to have those soothing foods in small quantities - but here is what I have tried:
I have tried to limit wheat/flour based foods and that has REALLY helped. Also, I only have one serving of oats a day - because they can cause gas, bloating. I try to make sure and have veggies as often as possible (cooked). I eat lean protein and I drink lots and lots of water. I do take acacia every day - two tsp. twice a day. I am thinking of increasing it a bit. And, when I overeat or have fatty foods at nite - I am especially "C" the next day!

Beth, Yes, but if you're having trouble passing you may need
to, at least for a while. Speaking of exercising, another
thing that might help is to do sit-ups. I've been doing 50 a
day and it is helping me. I typically have a decent BM within
an hour or so of doing the sit-ups. -Bob

That sounds exactly like what's working for me. I just recently figured out that oats have been causing me problems...I've been eating them for years thinking they were helping! And I eat more fruits and veggies than I used to. I also can't eat much at once. If I eat too much it majorly slows things down...and I can tell as soon as I do it. And I can hardly eat any fat. I am gradually figuring this all out. I think it is helping. But lots of fruits and veggies, lots of water, and exercise are key!!

...I usually eat a SF fruit and an IF fruit and then 2 cooked veggies safely food processed to death. Sometimes one of the veggies is SF too.

This is the most fruits/veggies I get! Sometimes I miss a veggie at lunch if I have hummus or sushi.

I don't do much beans either. Maybe 2 T once or twice a week.

Maria, thank you for hanging in there with me. I know I ask a lot of questions...but I'm still hurting so I have to keep looking at what I am and am not doing. I know I need hypno (and I will once I get enough to buy a CD player), but I need other things as well. thank you for your support!

Love and hugs to you!
