Is it possible that my IBS developed because i had an eating disorder or even that it spun out of control because an eating disorder?

I dealt with anorexia off and on for over 20 years and believe that the anorexia had something to do with my IBS...that combined with major stress.
I have been healed (but by the grace of GOD) from anorexia and until Sunday (because I totally pigged out for Mothers Day) was stable! I am still stable but do have a major tummy ache from eating too much!
There is life after anorexia and IBS...I am proof positive!

I agree and have been wondering the same thing:) I had an eating disorder, for about 8 years, since i was 11 and have often wondered if it was a direct cause of IBS. My symptoms started about 4 years after my bad eating habits when I was 15. But other people I have known w/ anorexia did not necessarily develop IBS. I think just bad eating habits definitely don't help.

I had bad eating habits in high school (semi anorexic?), and I often wonder if that is what caused my IBS. I think there is definitely a connection.
