In the 3 yrs since I began eating for IBS, I have made some changes when we go out to eat that have benefitted the whole family, and saved us money too.
For instance, when we go to McD's my husband will order a supersize meal, I order two chicken fajitas from the dollar menu, and we share everything. I cant have an order of fries so I eat about 5 or 6 of his, share his soda, and we save money doing that and I save IBS pain.
And the local Chinese takeout place has a deal where you buy three lunch combos and get a whole container of veggie steamed dumplings free.
I order the three combos, get the steamed veg dumplings, and everybody shares evertyhing, like a buffet. That way I dont have to eat a lot of any one thing and risk IBS, and everyone gets more variety too!
Also,I always order water when eating out. Its FREE plus its better for you and no way can it trigger IBS. Also, utilize salad bars where they offer fresh fruit..you eat the fruit after the salad, and you dont have to buy a fatty rich dessert, and it saves money too~
