Does anyone have any suggestions about helping and preventing bloating? I HATE fennel tea, so I take fennel capsules, but they don't seem to be strong enough. I take Gas-X and Beano, but they don't seem to be stong enough, either. Advice would be nice.

I get alot of gas myself, and I noticed that if I take 3 beano tablets before my meals, I get less gas. Are you taking enough beano? sometimes 1 is just not enough. I also don't get any relief from Gas-X or fennel.

I've read that Beano is basically a scam because all it does is break the gas bubbles you have into smaller gas bubbles so there isn't any reduction in symptoms. I suppose if you took 3 of them it would cause the bubbles to be so small it wouldn't be as much of a problem?

Cutting out dairy has helped me out quite a bit but I'm struggling to find a good calcium replacement.

I found that eating several small meals a day helps, plus and this is very important: eating slowly and avoiding to swallow air.

Have you tried peppermint tea? I have severe bloating as well and find that peppermint makes me feel marginally better. Chew your food really really well. Are you taking digestive enzymes? You might want to check those out as well...

I must report that I've been using triphala for almost a week and I'm having regular BMs and last night, for the first time in I don't know how long, I had ZERO pain in my belly, ZERO bloating and ZERO distention. It's continuted through this morning. The recommended dosage is three capsules/day with water or a meal, but everywhere I've read says that you need to fiddle with your dosage until it works for you, and there's no harm in upping it. So, I'm taking between 9-12 capsules/day.

I also started Now brand Psyllium Husk Fiber yesterday, one teaspoon in 12 oz water. I'm drinking peppermint tea like it's going out of style (Guyayaki's Peppermint Yerba Mate), taking Omega 3-6-9s, multiple vitamin, chlorella, and Enzymedica's Digest formula, one before lunch and dinner (digestive enzymes).

HTH!

I've actually just started taking triphala (about 5 days now) and I take 6 500 mg capsules daily. The difference is AMAZING! My bloating has gone down a lot and I have very little pain. Who knew that such an old herb could help so much?!

Yay! I'm glad it's working for you too. That means it's probably not a coincidence that I'm feeling better. :0)

What brand do you use? And how much are you taking ?
