Anyone sensitive to rice?

I'm trying an elimination diet to weed out food badies. I'm sticking to rice, baked chicken and a small variety of other foods. Thought that I'd feel better by now. Does anyone out here know that they're sensitive to rice?

I've noticed in the past that I bloat up after eating sushi (very average size portion of 12 pieces). And since I've been eating more rice than usual, I was just wondering.

I can eat a roll of sushi with no problem...I am very full after a roll.

I have found that if I eat rice too regularly it can become "heavy" in my stomach.

I'm not expert...but it could be the type of rice you are eating. You might try that.

I've had great difficulties with rice in the past. Whenever I would eat white rice -- even organic white rice -- I would get D.

I was very upset about this until one day I tried organic white Basmati rice (the Lundberg brand of white Basmati rice is good; see www.lundberg.com). I have no idea why, but I am perfectly fine with white Basmati rice! A few other people on this board have had similar success with white Basmati rice.

So you may just need to try different varieties of white rice like Basmati until you find one that works for you.

I've had similar experiences with other foods too. For example, I can't tolerate butternut squash, but I am absolutely fine with acorn squash (also known as "winter squash").

Honestly, IBS can sometimes be so finicky!

White rice that you buy in a regular supermarket is a nightmare from hell for me. I didn't seem to have as many problems with Lundberg white rice but I'm chicken to try it again because of what the regular store bought white rice did to me.
