Is chest pain and burning in your lower abdomen normal for IBS? The burning is really weird, because I get the feeling that it's in my intestinal area instead of my stomach. I can't explain how it happens...

I get both the burning in my chest area (usually below sterum) and intestine area.
The chest area burning is from my hiatal hernia. Have you been diagnosed with GERD? How often do you get it? The burning in your chest isn't a part of IBS.
I notice a burning sensation in my intestines usually before I'm about to have D or pass very loose stools. I don't have that feeling when I'm C. I think this is pretty normal.

Sounds to me like you might have GERD. I'd go see your GI and get that checked out. Some people don't take it seriously, but it can lead to cancer untreated. If you're having burning in your intestinal area, you might need a colonoscopy to determine that one. It's possible it's like GERD, but coming out the sphincter between your stomache and instestine, I guess it would be more like GIRD Gastro INTESTINAL reflux disease (I don't think there is such a thing exactly, but it could be possible).

I was never diagnosed with GERD, but I was told I have acid-reflux...in the bottom of my stomach. My duodium (the tube that connects your stomach to your intestines) was said to be too small, which actually makes it collapes sometimes. This is the only information that I recieved from my doctor when he did an endoscopy, but he didn't think it was too serious...

Are you on any medication for the acid reflux?

Yeah. I'm on Nexium, which definitely helps with the burning in my stomach, but not so much below it... I should probably have it checked out either way...
