Just come up in a few of the recipes I want to bake for this weekend, and not sure what it is.

Thankyou!!

Ooh - plus two other questions - what is a double boiler? (Want to make dairy free fudge recipe uses one) And can I substitute molasses with treacle?

It is not self-rising flour. It's plain ol' flour - not bread flour or cake flour but something in-between.

A double boiler is one pot in another one with water in the bottom pot. You can buy them as a set or I use a metal bowl over a pot, not particularly safe so be very careful. Don't know about the molasses substitution....
