Hi
I did watch it, though some parts of course went straight over my head, with not being a specialist in the area. I thought some of the insights it validated made it excellent - the physical proof of physiological differences between IBS sufferers and 'normal' people.
Some of the stats re D/C/A were also very interesting.
Unfortunately I had very little sleep last night, so near the end of the presentation I started to lose focus a little, so I think I might watch it again tomorrow, skip to two sections from the end and catch up on what I missed.
It's always so good to hear from someone in the medical profession who very clearly understands our problems!
Thanks for posting it

Blondie, glad you listened. If you have any questions about it let me know. I find sometimes listening twice helps it sink in sometimes. LOL
Dr Drossman is excellent and is the chairman for the Rome Committee and one of the world leaders in IBS research.

"Report from the 6th International Symposium on Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders By: Douglas A. Drossman, MD and William F. Norton, IFFGD
The 6th International Symposium on Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders was hosted by IFFGD on April 7-10, 2005. The biennial meeting was jointly sponsored by the Office of Continuing Medical Education, University of Wisconsin Medical School and the International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) in cooperation with the Functional Brain-Gut Research Group (FBG). The program, a culmination of two years planning was both stimulating and informative. In fact, our knowledge of the functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders continues to evolve, and these symposia are in many ways a barometer of the many changes occurring in the field."
