..fot your student loan but do the Luna ingredients fit in with the all new "no refined sugar Natalie"

The sugars in Lunas are, so it looks not

Sugar
Sugar is a carbohydrate that comes in many forms. They range from simple sugars, such as sweets and candy, to complex sugars, such as whole grains. We have recently decreased the amount of sugar in our bars by 25% on average. We continue to use all natural sweeteners that make LUNA taste so great.

Brown Rice Syrup
Brown Rice Syrup is a natural sugar made from brown rice and is less refined than white sugar. We use brown rice syrup in LUNA as it has a mild taste and is a good natural sweetener that goes through less processing than other sugars. Along with organic evaporated cane juice, this syrup contributes to that great taste of LUNA without providing too much sugar.

Organic Evaporated Cane Juice
Organic evaporated cane juice is sugar from sugar cane that goes through less processing than table sugars. Cane juice is added to the LUNA bar frosting to add to the creamy flavor. Along with the Brown Rice Syrup, LUNA bar has less than 3 teaspoons of sweetener and these contribute to the overall carbohydrate count of 24-26 grams.

Sorry.............

Nat - this is the site I found last week, I presumed it was the one you already knew about or I would've put it in an email / post. Doh!!

Shipping isn't that bad at all - similar to UK supermarket delivery charges, in fact even better at the lower order amounts. Not many Luna flavours though... Maybe we should bombard them with emails to extend their range?!!

They are a "health food/ energy" bar. I find them to be a good between quick food to carry in my car/ purse. for an energy bar, they are not bar - like eating a chewy, highly flavored rice/nut cake with glaze.

Nope, I can't do them either because of the soy. I just trade them with my friends.

I recommending proceeding with caution when it comes to Luna Bars! I would hardly describe Luna Bars as a safe food for people with IBS and I think the people who describe it this way are ill-informed.

However, it appears some IBS people can tolerate them just fine and I say more power (energy!) to them for being able to do so! However, many of us cannot tolerate them -- I for one would become very sick if I had one because I could not tolerate the ingredients in them. I would probably need to be carted off to the hospital for morphine if I had one. Some of the ingredients in Luna Bars are "deadly" to my IBS!

If you want to try a Luna Bar, I would recommend having just a tiny bite to start in combination with a soluble fibre staple such as white rice, white bread or mashed potatoes. If you survive, you could try another bite the next day and see how you fared.

My approach to trying new foods is similar to the approach used by people with food allergies. I start with a tiny amount, monitor my reaction and slowly increase the amount (if I am fine) over a period of several days or longer. I certainly wouldn't recommend devouring an entire Luna Bar to start because, if you are one of the IBS many who can't tolerate it, you are going to be very ill...
