You have this topic posted twice. This one and then this one: http://www.helpforibs.com/messageboards/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=diet&Number=253441&page=1&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

So, it's confusing for us as well! Maybe you could ask Heather to delete one or lock it?

Well my cramps are better than when I wasn`t taking it but that could be due to the fact I have cut out wheat since....so the answer to your question...I`m not sure. sorry!!

You could email her or you could just leave it. I was thinking it might get difficult for you to get your replies if you have to deal with two threads on the same topic. This happened to me before, but I was able to delete the second post before anyone got a chance to reply!

Hi Jo

Did you do the breaking the cycle bit of the diet first? I know that when I did it I kept very bland and some of the things that you mentioned would definitely have upset me....

1. soup (my mum made from sweet potato, carrot and butternut squash)Does your Mum use a stock cube when she makes soup? If so it may have ingredients, anything from MSG (Which is EEEVIL) to garlic powder which hurt my tummy.

2. Blueberries, strawberries- strawberries give me LOTS of D I love them but have to have eaten lots and lots of solubles before I can chance having berries and getting away scot free.

3.dairy and wheat free choc- as far as i know it's still chocolate so still bad, but don't quote me on that. It's all pretty rich for a sick tummy.

I was on Colofac when I got IBS first and it really didn't help me at all, but I know some people swear by it.

The diet doesn't necessarily work immediately but it will work for most people so stick with it and maybe go blander? Keeping a food diary is such a good idea too.

Help, please. I can't find the post about why you don't eat wheat or gluten or what you do in place of it.

I am currently waiting to have a camera down my throat to my small intestines to check for coeliacs disease, which I think I have. So I`m avoiding that (until 2 weeks before when I have to eat it). Instead I have wheat free bread, pasta etc (get it from most supermarkets) and just avoid things that have wheat/gluten in them. Its a pain but I think its helped me alot!
if you want to know more just let me know and I`ll try and help
hugs

That's usually the first step. It will show if you have gluten intolerance. I had positive blood work but a negative endoscopy. So, I'm not celiac but maybe gluten intolerant? But eating GF hasn't helped me.

Why did you suspect Celiac? Are you a D or a C?

what brand bread do you buy? I eat the Food for Life Brown Rice and White rice breads.
