Does anyone else have this problem and what have you done for it?
I can't take a nap (unless it's under 15 minutes) without waking up feeling a bit queasy and often have cramps and d. It's really annoying!
Any ideas? Dan

I'm the exact same way with naps. Not sure why I wake up queasy, but I believe the cramps somehow atribute to your colon "waking up" with you - just as it does in the morning after you've slept all night.

I know for me, my colon needs about an hour and a half before it is fully woken up (wow - sounds like it's human? LOL) So I always make sure I get up 2 hours before I have to be anywhere so I have that extra half hour for any tummy problems.

So although naps always seem very tempting, I have to give myself that 2 hour window before I can commit myself to going anywhere.

me too! I can't sleep or I wake up crampy. Hum, It might be because our body's(IBS'rs) need a constant cycle or regularity? But I do love to sneak one when I can.

I have a suggestion----don't take naps! It disrupts your sleep cycle at night.

.. but unfortunately some people need naps if they didn't get enough sleep from the night before due to family emergencies or being sick. I know that I've been up a couple nights feeling ill and been exhausted the next day so I have to take a nap or I get bad headaches due to lack of sleep.

Don't nap after a meal. Wait at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours before you do. Try having a cup of peppermint tea before you lie down. This may help, or else maybe ginger tea. I LOVE naps and you shouldn't have to give them up if you don't want to.
