HELP: At Wits End! Trouble sleeping, exhausted, weak, etc.

Have had a REAL HECK of a time sleeping the last few days. Feel over exhausted, really weak, just abt. you name it,etc. IBS symptoms seem alot better tho. Got ahold of a few Librax which I used to take, and am now taking which REALLY HELP the PAIN, etc. Went off the promenthazine (Phenegen). BUT......this sleeping problem started before I switched meds.
Maybe cause I'm sooooooooooooooooooo upset cause the dr. hasn't prescribed anything YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some may know that this prescription problem has gone on FOREVER.
The doc supposedly sent me a pres. for 1 Librax /da. which won't do a darn thing, but that was Tues and I sure would have it by now!!! I see fr. an old presc. that I used to take 4 of them /da and they worked REALLY well!!!
NOW........I have to see him Fri. for a presc. HOW LONG CAN I WAIT....!!!!!?????
To be SURE.....I am VERY UPSET!!!! and THAT's PUTTING IT MILDLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor hubby's been doing ALL the cooking. Chicken, pots and carrots get a bit old..........!
THINK I'M AFRAID THAT EVEN IF I SEE HIM, HE WON'T give me more than 1 Librax/da. and that is on my mind!
Have SURE been thinking of going to Emergency, but........what can or would they do??? Don't think I'd get sleep there!!!!!!

Marnie: Sounds to me like you need another doctor! There's got to be a GI specialist that can treat you right. The phenergan is not a good idea-it's habit forming and doesn't address the real symptoms of IBS. I take Librax as needed and it is a lifesaver! I'm an RN and sometimes people forget they can fire their dotors=that's right! Fire him and get another! meanwhile you are in my prayers! Mary

I am going through the same as you right now. I have been on some many meds to help. Right now I am on Bentyl and take Ultram for the pain. Dr. called me today and wants me to take a course of Elavil, won't prescribe me anymore Ultram(pain medication). I am so upset. Don't they realize that I have to go to the ER if I can't deal with the pain? I know you are like me. I just want to deal with my misery, at home, and NOT at the ER where there are people who are really bad. All I need is is some antispasmodics, pain meds, and lots o water and rest!!!! This will be the 4 dr for me. I finally found a pain med that is not narcotic so they won't have a problem giving to me now apparently they have decided it is a narcotic. I think the best dr would be one with IBS so they really do understand how bad the pain is. This dr also keeps asking me if I have ever been abused! I just don't know either. I just keep praying for all of us.....Hang in there with me...Marcy.

Your Doctor asked if you were abused, because studies have shown women who have been sexually abuse are more prone to IBS.
The last thing you need to worry about it whether you have been abuse or not. Get yourself better and if any memories do come up you can deal with it than with a professional.

See if doc w/prescribe Librax. 4x da. is great!!! Think I said I went of the promenthazine and bk to Lib and almost IMMEDIATELY the pain was gone!!!!! Also,  I used to take it and did VERY WELL. Now just gotta get him to prescribe. Even 3x da., possibly 2. Always ask for MORE..meaning I think the most they w/give is 4/da!!!!! Just to be on safe side..! Took the pain right away!!!! Took bentyl yrs. ago and it didn't do a d......... thing!!!!!!!!!!
I think Elavil is a tranquilizer that is supposed to left your mood. A doc gave it to me alongggggg time ago and it actually made me nervous and sure as heck didn't do ONE thing for my mood or IBS!!!!!

Tks Maryh. Wrote u abt getting bk on Librax yest. I THINK ALOT OF MY TROUBLE SLEEPING WAS fr. getting off the Phenegan!!! FINALLY SLEPT 7 1/2 hrs last nite!!!!!!
