When my doctor told me I had IBS she never told me any other letter like D or C or A or anything. So how can I find out>>> Must I have those awful test again or what>>>
Since the diets and treatments are so different please help me find out which I am.

It's easy, and a doctor doesn't diagnose it, it's more a descriptive thing based on your symptoms.
If your main IBS symptom is Diarrhea then you are D If your main IBS symptom is Constipation then you are C If your IBS symptoms Alternate between D&C then you are A

For all IBSers - C, D, A, and P - the EFI guidelines are the same: eliminate trigger foods and GI irritants; base all meals and snacks on SF; go low-fat but not no-fat; eat as much IF as you can tolerate; take an SFS.
You can take a look at this FAQ for Heather's explanation of how the same diet can work for both constipation and diarrhea.
