This may sound strange, but I thought I would put it out there to see if anyone else has had this experience. I just was put on 10mg of Celexa for anxiety- related to my IBS-D, When I start getting anxious and think I'm going to have an attack, I get this tingling feeling all through my body, I never had it before the Celexa and it is definitely only happens when I feel as if I have to run to the bathroom! It feels like when I have food with MSG- get the same tingling - anyone else ever experience anything like this? Maybe, I'm just nuts!

I get that feeling from both my IBS and Paxil. I also have an anxiety disorder. The Paxil made me jittery in the beginning. It may be that your bod will take a while to get used to the meds. Sometimes, before an attack, I get a jittery feeling - break out into a cold sweat, and even start to tremble. Could be either or both. If you're really concerned, you should talk to your doc. Take care!

You start to TREMBLE???? Breaking out into cold sweats??? Do you think Paxil is right for you? It doesn't sound like it. Those are pretty crappy side effects you got going on there, but I guess it's kinda like a warning that you're about to have an attack. I'm on 100mg of Zoloft for depression and anxiety. I notice, when I get really nervous or stressed, I have an IBS attack. For example, my boyfriend and I got into a fight the other night, and it stressed me out! I was in the bathroom 5 times that night. (within 3 hours). And today, I was driving home from an interview, and saw my ex (from 4 years ago) driving in front of me!! I was really scared, b/c I have a restraining order on this psycho-path, and I was hoping that he didn't see me!!! I stayed way far behind him. As soon as he got off the highway, I had to use the bathroom! LOL When i got home, I dashed into the bathroom!!! LOL

Thanks for your concern. The jittery and cold sweats are purly an IBS thing. I've had that for years. I've only been on the paxil a few months. Paxil made me jittery in the beginning, but an entirely different kind of jitter. My specialist explained it's a physical reaction to the seratonin being adjusted and having your body (in depression) changed too. I'm being monitored very closely by my Doc. Still adjusting the meds. One thing is for sure, anxiety can definitely trigger attacks. I think we've all been there.

It is nice to hear that others have the same issues!!! Iam IBS-D but mostly act up when I am under stress. I have not tried any medication but might have to if it continues. Due to this, I am afraid to go on long drives in the car with the kids or go out incase I am not able to make it to a washroom. Under these circumstances I usually have to go immediately which freaks me out even more.

Ever try Imodium? If you are IBS - D, it may help for the odd time. I used to do that - if I knew I was going out and an attack was likely I'd take even 1/2 tablet and forget about the worrying. Ask your doc about imodium. The brand X brands are fine, too.
