I'm IBS-d-pain. I started taking acacia, and at the time was fairly stable, but shortly after my first couple of doses I had some minor cramps and "d". Is this normal? Should I just continue taking this and wait for my system to adjust or does this mean my body doesn't like this stuff?

Thanks in advance,
David

It could mean your system just doesn't like the acacia. Or you could be at too high of a dose. What dose are you at? Also, did you happen to try anything else new that could have thrown your system off?

I'd say to give it some time for your body to adjust. Start at a low dose, drink plenty of water. I am IBS-D as well, and it took a week to adjust. I am also taking an antispasmodic with my meals, along with a peppermint/ginger/fennel/chamomile combo. I take soluble fiber at every meal and that seems to stop the cramps and control the D for me. BUT everyone is different...

I started with the suggested 1/2 tsp. dosage. As far as my diet goes, I haven't added anyting new. I've been fairly stable lately and thought it might be a good time to start something like this. Maybe I just need to give it a chance.
