Are we allowed to have them? They don't usually contain dairy or anything like that. I could get one at the store sometime soon, and maybe post the ingredients. ..I've just been having these really bad cravings lately. All I want to do is eat -it's horrible!! I don't really know what to do with myself.
But if anyone knows what I'm talking about, usually you can buy them at a gas station or definately a bakery. Anyways, thanks.

No, no. I wouldn't even bother to read the ingredients on that. The apple flips I'm referring to usually look like you actually took the trouble to visit a bakery and purchase it. Maybe the stores around here buy them from a local bakery or something. But they are like wrapped in transparent wrap with a sticker for the label. Maybe I will try and get the ingredients.

Oh, no wonder I've never gotten responses from this before. Maybe it's a Newfoundland thing ...
I have one here that wouldn't be safe because of the whole egg ingredient. But I once saw another that only had egg white in it:
flour, vegetable oil shortening (may contain palm oil), water, apples, sugar and/or brown sugar and/or gluclose-fructose, salt, gluclose, modified starch, frozen whole egg, cinnamon, potassium sorbate, sodium metabisulfate, malic acid, propylene glycol and/or vinegar and/or sodium propionate, sorbic acid.

This isn't really a good brand because of all the preservatives. And I definately wouldn't eat it, but since this was all that I could find at one particular store today, I just want to give you a general idea. If they are safe, they would be an awesome snack! Basically just a pastry folded and baked with apple inside. Very tastey. I crave them all the time.

As long as you watch out for the whole egg like you already said. I would also be careful of the vegetable oil shortening. It sounds like it may be high in fat
Are these like an apple turnover type pastry?

I'd just watch out for the fat content - if you can find one that's not hugely fatty and you've been eating healthily and you don't have it on an empty stomach, you might be able to sneak it in.

In fact, my IBS "cheats" tend to be baked goods. I've run into trouble doing this, but only when I'm cheating regularly. If I eat well the rest of the week, I can have a scone - yay! But something with a fruit filling would probably be better than my usual cheat of a frosted pumpkin scone.
