I went to the doctor today and found out I might have gastritis plus IBS. I'm going to the GI doctor within the next three weeks...and I'm not looking foward to it....I also found out I am anemic. Funny how you can find out this much in one afternoon. I know there are posts around here but I'm looking for comfort...lol. Are upper endoscopies painful/uncomfortable? I flinch and squeam alot at anything that has to go inside anywhere in my body, and I'm not very tolerant to anything going down my throat (you should see me try and take a pill!).

I just had one in November and they knocked me out and I don't remember a thing. I did feel a little nausea the next day, but nothing too bad. The procedure was 7 minutes and they took samples of my inflammation and put a dilation balloon in to open my esophagus and stop some of the spasming. Next thing you know, they are waking you up!!

Yeah they sedate you so much usually (almost always but double check as you're concerned) that you're out for the count! I had a little sore throat and a bit of painful gas afterwards but that soon went.
