I searched for wheat and cheerios topics and didn't find an answer

So why is cheerios safe if it's whole wheat? I checked the book and it said whole wheat was unsafe? Also, I can't stand oatmeal so are rice and corn chex my only cereal choices?

Some people won't be able to tolerate cheerios or any wholewheat cereal, but some can (like me) b/c in those cases the IF is well ground down and is mixed with good amounts of SF.
And remember that you mustn't stop eating IF...just make it as safe as possible!

Cheerios aren't whole wheat. They're made out of oats. Oats are one of the whole grains easier for IBSers to digest because they have almost an equal amount of SF and IF. HTH!

I have such trouble advising Yanks on cereal as is all so different....plus I only eat oatmeal and Weetabix now.
