Every since I have been told that I have IBS when I urinate the stream is weak. Its seems worse the more I have to go. When I wake up in the morning or during the night the stream is the weakest. My doc said that the Bentyl would maybe make me have to go, because it is relieving my intestines from inflammation and may put pressure on my bladder. He never mentioned that I may have a weak stream such as this. Anyone else have this problem?

Lannie, You may have an enlarged prostate. I take Bentyl and the urinary retention is not that bad. Do you have trouble starting the stream and post pissing drip(leakage)? If so, that is the sign of an enlarged prostate and you need to see a Urologist. If not, then it's just urinary retention. There are some antispasmodics that don't cause urinary retention, unfortunately not the common ones available. -Bob

That SO looks like Aventura in the backround (I'm originally from Miami), live out West with hubby now.
Anyway, yeah I would see a urologist. Lots of things could be causing the prob. I would check just to be safe! If you DO live in Aventura or in the NMB area I can ask around for a urologist if you'd like. (Mom does insurance billing for docs in the area so she knows tons of good docs!)
How's your IBS? Are the meds helping?
Take care,
