I'm scheduled to have an endoscopy test in a few weeks. I'm curious if anyone has had any problems associated with the preparations for the test. I know the day prior to the test they've asked me to take a large amount of pills that are supposed to clean out my system. I'm concerned that all of this may trigger an attack. Any advice?

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and I was on the toilet the entire afternoon and night before the procedure. They made me take nulytely. It was inconvienent, but didn't feel like an attack. I just had an urgency to go all the time, no pain though. I hope everything goes well for you!

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I cancelled my test back in October and have been procrastinating because I've been worried about inducing an attack. So this time I guess I'll follow the Dr.'s orders and hope for the best.

I too had the colonoscopy and endoscopy done at the same time. it was a two-day prep with clear liquid diet. They like those small intestines to be REALLY clean. Just stick with safe foods and you'll be fine.

Sorry I can't give you the exact link but somewhere on this board you'll find some wonderful posts about the prep procedure that is so helpful. Just do a search of colonoscopy prep or something similar.
