I have to admit I don't eat out much as I hate being seen as a pain when ordering and my last restaurant meal ended in several days of pain.

Even when I go to friends places I usually offer to bring a plate so I know I have something "safe" to eat.

On Monday we have a work lunch on and I really want to go rather than stay back at school eating my packed lunch by myself.

The menu was faxed to us and after careful consideration I have put in my order.

I marked it as a special request on the order form and asked for:
the grilled salmon without any butter, oil or sauce.
baked potato without any butter, oil, sce, sour cream etc.
steamed vegies and a white bread roll.

I'm really hoping for success this time and think I've picked a pretty safe combination.

What do you all think?

I'm hoping that if it goes OK it will give me more confidence at eating out.

I'm going away with family for five days in Feb and am already stressing about what I'll eat!

Hey! I think the menu you picked out for yourself sounds very safe, and I think you'll be fine! As for your family trip, I'm not sure. I'm not sure of the restaurants in Australia, but if you find a good seafood place you could get shrimp or crab or something? I think that sounds good. Crab is my favorite food in the entire world!!! lol well I hope everything works out for you!

Kerrie - I think you picked a great lunch. You'll be just fine, I'm sure. Maybe even take a fiber supplement either before you leave or when you get to the restaurant for backup.

Try not to think about the family trip just yet. Concentrate on getting through the lunch - you don't want to overwhelm yourself!

Try to have a good time on Monday and let us know how it goes.

This experience was a lot better than the last! The salmon was really nice and the retaurant followed my instructions to a T apart from forgetting my bread roll.

I think I'll have more confidence to try eating out more often now.
