Hey there,
I thought I read a post where you said you have low blood pressure. Well, I have the same problem. The last time I had it take it was 80/50!! The nurse looked at me kinda funny & said "Well, your still alive" Any way, the doc said to drink coffe, but it kicks my IBS in. So I've tried this supplement called Cool Cayanne. It's supposed to help get the blood to you extermeties, so far not bad. I don't think it's hurt my IBS. Thought you might be interested. Do you do anything special for it??

Now that's low BP! I've heard of cayenne to help that - I'm glad it seems to be working for you! Mine isn't quite that low, it's really just on the low end of normal now - 100/60 at last count. I don't do anything for it, although I can really tell when it drops lower, so maybe I should. Do you take it all the time, or is it the kind of thing a person could use as needed?

I've been on it for about 3 weeks, & take 1 in the morning w/ the rest of my pills. I suppose you could take it as needed. Sometimes I'll get lightheaded,I think it's from the low BP, maybe I should start keeping an a closer eye on it.

Hi Kiwii, You don't have to necessarily drink coffee to
raise your blood pressure. Drinking lots of any kind of
watery fluid will do the trick. I know from past experience.
. Exercise will also elevate it. -Bob

Hey there Bob.
I read about your stroke, how r u? Better I hope. I currently drink about 90 flz of water per day, & excersize twice daily.(including 20 min on the tredmill). I also try to remember to eat salt on my food every now & then as I've heard this too can help. I just don't want to over do it on the salt (I used to be a saltaholoic). Thanx for the info!

well i just ate some white rice and baked fish and some hot ginger tea I hope it goes well. It is hard having hardly any energy and having to run behind my kids. I love them dearly and I hope that I can stabalze soon. I do have a question. How bad can this IBS get? Can this send you to the hospital for exteneded time. Are all doctors treating this with anxiety meds? I am worried about that.

I've read posts on these boards where people have gone to the hospital, but not for too long, mabey just a day, or the ER. I haven't though. It can get pretty bad pain wise. I don't know what your symptoms are. Not all docs are treating this w/ anxiety meds. I'm not, & have never been on one. Sometimes you just need to take some deep breaths & remind yourself, this will pass, because it will!! It can mess w/ your mind. You might want to look into the Yoga part of this site, or the hypnosis these could help you. But, if you can just maybe lie down, & take a few deep breaths, & REMIND YOURSELF, IT DIDN'T TAKE OVERNIGHT TO GET HERE, SO IT WON'T TAKE OVERNIGHT TO GET BACK! But, you are on the road to recovery. I know it may seem like an eternity at times, but the more you follow good eating habits & excersize, the more your body will respond! Keep your chin up! One day at a time!

Hi Kiwii, I'm think I'm doing pretty good on improving on
the stroke. However the IBS related problem that contributed
to the cause of the stroke hasn't gotten that much better.
I'm having two more tests done at Northwestern Univ.'s Med.
School Health Center tomorrow and friday to pin the problem
down and acertain how bad it is. BTW, low blood pressure is
not a bad thing one reading of 80/50 isn't that significant.
If you're regularly at 90/60 and above, I think that's con-
sidered fine. -Bob
