Kree,
Thanks for responding. I'm glad I'm not alone on the oatmeal front.
No, I'm not using the sugar free variety. I'm a diabetic as well and have made that mistake before! Talk about making things complicated!!!
Perhaps it's trying all of these things at once that bothered my stomach, however, I have a feeling its the oatmeal.
Right now I'm living on Rice Cakes, Reduced Fat crackers, chicken and dry toast...and I can't seem to stablize. The only time I feel better is when I don't eat anything for a while and that's not supposed to be good for my stomach either.

Thanks for your note. I've never been a milk lover so I have usually eaten my oatmeal plain without milk of any kind. Must be the oatmeal! One more thing on the "trigger food" list! ;o(

Oatmeal seems to depend on the person. For me, the quick-oats kind that you have to cook (not instant) is the one thing I can always eat, no matter what. I use water, not milk, and I add ground flax seed to it, also raisins sometimes (I have C more than D), a little brown sugar and cinnamon. Every single morning as soon as I wake up, and if I'm in a bad spell, I just eat it all day long. But I can't do the instant. Weird, how we're all different, huh? Good luck though!

Oatmeal is one of my staples! I eat it every morning, i mix my fiber supplement with it (benefiber) its great, it sets me up for the day. I find that benefiber is the only supplement that doesnt make me feel bloated and gassy. hope you feel better.

hi Nancy; AS NO one has mentioned this I will; it may be the INSOLUBLE fibre in the oatmeal that is the problem, I, too, have problems with oatmeal and found oatmeal has insoluble fibre as well as soluble fibre.

Everybody's different. I don't do well with the instant oatmeal or the FiberChoice. Once I switched to Rice Chex cereal with rice milk and Citrucel, I have been so much better!!!!

I can see how being diabetic would make things much more difficult! It must be very frustrating finding things you can eat! I hope you're able to get stabalized soon, and start eating some real food again. I hate when I'm in that toast and cereal phase, because I love to eat!

I'm one of those who doesn't tolerate oatmeal well. The only kind I can eat is the instant packets, and then I have to read the ingredients list carefully because so many of the flavors contain dairy.
