Just be careful of ones that contain extra ingredients.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I picked up some samples in the HFS and I think this is when I started having my worse than usual pain and other symptoms. They were the regular Stevia, not the Stevia Plus.

Maybe it's just a coincidence. Problem now is that I can't drink tea without sweetner...tastes nasty now!

Well, it makes me puke everytime I've used it. So, I don't use it. That's about it.

Kate, IBS-D.

If I use it in a baking item I just use that instead of the ones with fillers and add my own fillers (more flour/cornstarch, etc depending ont he recipe..

You don't need a lot. I picked up a box of packets. I use about 1/3 of a packet in drinks and cereal, when I use it..... It's not the same sweet you get from sugar. I can only describe it as a licorice flavor. An acquired taste. I've never baked with it. Think it is to expensive for that.

Where can we purchase Stevia from? Grocery stores? Or HFS?

Most health food stores have it. I have not seen it in regular stores.

I put one packet in my malt o meal and 1/3 in a thermos of tea. It has a different taste than sugar and shouldn't be baked with imho. I grew the herb and one teeny weeny piece was knock out sweet! 100 packets are over $7 and I figure that if I use 1 1/2 a day it isn't that bad. I have to put some Coffeemate in my cereal too because stevia couldn't sweeten it how I liked- even 3 packets- and that is too much. I am not super wild about the flavor but it is ok.
