Can it make your stomach "hurt" or get irritated. My son fell asleep on my at a christmas party for two hours. That means 19 pounds solid baby was pushing on my stomach for two hours while we sat/layed on the couch! My insides have since felt heavy or achey, kind of like they did after I gave birth to my son. Like a weight has been lifted off of me and my insides are just hanging there. Sounds weird, huh? It doesn't hurt, again, just uncomfortable. So really, the question is, can excessive weight on your tummy mess it up?

Thanks for any advice!!!

Amber

This is gonna sound real gross, so brace yourself.....

I have a big tummy. I mean BIG. (I can't WAIT to start Weight Watchers tomorrow -- I SOOOOO need it!) I have noticed that when I take the weight off it, I feel so much better! This morning, tummy was feeling "iffy," and I had to call on my "Michael Reserves" to ward off an impending attack. Ya with me on this?

I crawled into my recliner and laid back as far as it would go. OMG, it was instant relief! No kidding, as I was going back in that thing, taking the weight off my tummy, I could feel the pain easing up. I laid back in the recliner, watching "Ellen," moaning during the entire show. Hubby thought I was in extreme pain, but it was just the opposite. By the time the show was over, I was totally relieved of pain and could get out of the recliner and go about my chores.

I am so getting this weight off me! Check back in 8 months. Tummy is gonna be one tiny -- and happy -- little camper.

Bev

Totally! I have a 9month old daughter and i've got to be careful about having her sit on my stomach for too long. A lot of people here can't tolerate tight clothes which is a similar problem.

I am 5'8" tall and for the longest weighed under 130 pounds. Somewhere around 40 or 41 years of age I found 10-15 pounds and my IBS is worse.

I too am planning to lose a few pounds...as I type this there is a peach cobbler in my oven ...and pray it helps. Bevrs, we will have to remember this and check back with each other in a few months. My diet starts January 2nd.

Major attack today as I got some unexpected stress...stress is inevitable and I usually have much less than most. This weight is another story!

Okay, Girlfriend, you're ON! I have a goal of 8 months from now to reduce my cholesterol and blood pressure (and to get into my wedding ring!). I am SOOOO DRIVEN to do it too! I chose 8 months because my doctor's appointment is in September. I do NOT want to have to take that damn cholesterol med. I'm determined.

Yep. I do believe the extra weight on my tummy is to blame for a lot of my problems, not only my cholesterol, high blood pressure, and IBS, but my backaches as well, not to mention the added stress on my bad knee, keeping me from being able to go for long walks.

Your diet starts Jan. 2? Mine starts tomorrow at my very first WW meeting.

Eight months, Girlfriend. Calendar it. You're ON! (Wouldn't it be wonderful if we found ourselves free of IBS symptoms?)

..... when my little dog (a little tiny Westie) climbs into my lap, I have to hold him away -- because he hurts my tummy.

Tight clothes? YOWZA!!!!

Yeah, I have that too. I'm at a good weight, but sometimes when my BF touches my stomach gets naseated just that fast.
Just a little too much pressure, & there it goes!!

I can def. relate!

When I weight more and my tummy gets sore from it all...youch! The extra tummy weight HURTS!!

So yeah. Def. having ANY extra weight on your tummy hurts...no matter where that weight comes from.

Tight fitting clothes belong in someone ELSE'S closet

P.S. I'm jumping on that weight losing bandwagon. I hope to buy a book called Body Clutter as a present-to-self at in the middle of Jan (it will be shipped...) and I can't wait!

8 months Bev? Sounds like a reasonable amount of time! I have 15-20 lbs to lose. Count me IN!

P.S. Rachel...your weight sounds great at less than 130 and 5"8 (just not too much less I hope. All bods are diff. though. I'm 5"6 give or take half an inch and I feel best at about 113-120. So there ya go )
