I was feeling fine excepting that I had to go the washroom. I found a little blood. This is not normal for IBS is it? I have an appt with my doctor this afternoon because it worried me a little.

Typically, bright red blood isn't as much of a worry - it's usually a sign of hemorrhoids, irritation, or a little tearing. Black, tarry-looking stools are a sign of internal bleeding, and so if you ever have THAT, get thee to a doctor or ER immediately.

Either way, good for you for making an appointment with your doctor so quickly... it's worth having checked out, for sure.

Whew! Thanks! You just took a load off for me. I was getting really really worried. I do have quite a bit of cramping though. Sometimes it's not much fun, is it?

Thanks again!
