Anyone on or have been on Pamelor/Nortriptylin?

Just started this a week ago. So far my dose is so low I can handle it and I increase it every two weeks. If you are on it, at what dose and is it helping? If you were on it, why did you get off? Thanks for all your help. Lisa

Hi Lisa- I have been on this for about 8 months - it took some time for me to find the right dose. I am currently taking 100mg each day before bed. It's really helping control my IBS. It's not making it 100% better, but better enough that I can live with it. The only drawback is that it gives me dry-mouth - that part is driving me crazy, but it's worth it I think to feel better.

Thanks for your reply. What dose did you start on and how long did it take to get to 100mg?When you say stable how long do you go in between flare ups? Does the meds make you sleepy? I started on 10mg and every two weeks go up 10 more so it will take some time to get to 100mg.I can live with a dry mouth if I can get some of my life back. Thanks for you help. Lisa
