it's a totally individual thing. a lot of people here take acacia because it's easiest to get a really high dose. i, personally, take fiberchoice - powders aren't convenient for me, and as far as pills and chewables go, it seems to be the best SF grams per dose, and per dollar. it's also a question of additives, like sweeteners and sugar, which some people aren't bothered by, but some want to avoid. if you tell us what SFS you're on now and why you want to switch, it'll be easier to recommend something that might be right for you.

How much Fiberchoice do you take? Are you a D or C? I read that Fiberchoice is no good for folks with gas and bloating like I have. Do you have trouble with that? Thanks for your help. Lisa

Sorry forgot to mention I am on Citrucel and even with Nexium it makes me feel really sick and when I have a flare up I can not handle it at all. I am a D. Thanks!

i'm an A, mostly D. right now i take 9g (4 and a half chewables) per day, but i'm still working up. i started at one chewable (2g SF), and have been increasing by half a chewable, every 5-7 days.

i do generally have gas as one of my symptoms. i've found, with fiberchoice, that for the first couple of days on an increased dose, i am gassier than usual, and it does feel different from usual ibs action. (and, to be graphic, it smells more than usual.) when i first started on fiberchoice and started experiencing that, i decided (with help of advice from the board) to stick it out, and sure enough, it cleared up within a few days. with increasing the dose, i wait a couple of days after the gas has gone, and then up my dose again.

i've been really happy with fiberchoice - the couple of days of gas is worth, for me, the major convenience - the chewables taste good, don't require me to drink a glass of water with them, and have a good high amount of fiber per dose.

When I was really bad sick last month, I couldn't take the Citrucel, either. Are you taking Citrucel "CLEAR"???? It is better because it doesn't have the citric acid in it (orange flavor). I still couldn't take it very well without feeling very sick, until now. I am finally able to take it 3 times a day again without feeling like it's going to come back up. Maybe it's the Nexium.....maybe my body was just too acidic. I take the fiber first in the morning with antacids......to keep it down okay. Then 1 hour later I take the Nexium with antacids, so that the antacids neutralize the stomach acid so the Nexium won't make me feel sick. You may want to try that, if you're not already......
Let me know how you're appt goes!!

i think it might be a D vs A thing - i know casey uses fiverchoice, too - she and i are both As, but leaning towards D. that might make a difference.

i'd love to hear from other folks who've tried it, especially anyone who uses it and likes how it works.
