What do you all eat for breakfast and lunch that is quick but easy on IBS-D tummies!?

I eat oatmeal (microwaved) and some sort of toast with jelley every morning with a cup of peppermint tea.
Lunch is never easy for me. I cook chicken, pasta, and some zuchinni and carrots on a Saturday or Sunday and freeze it in individual size containers. Then I pack one for lunch with some french bread and microwave it. I also bake sweet potatoes and cut them in half and freeze them also. Basically, I make my own frozen dinners.

On weekdays, I typically eat Cheerios or oatmeal (I like Heather's recipe for blueberry oatmeal).
For lunch, I usually take leftovers or sometimes I have a turkey sandwich.

I have a pretty standard morning routine....
I brew some hot water in my hot-pot (electric tea pot) for plain instant oatmeal and some peppermint tea. While that's brewing, I have a glass of room temp water with my SFS and multi-vitamin.
After that, I read the paper, eat the oatmeal, drink the tea and that's it. Works fairly well, and I branched out last weekend and had a packet of flavored oatmeal (it was a treat... after weeks of plain, it was like manna from heaven!).

That's a good idea for those frozen dinners.
Right now, I'm very unstable with my hiatal hernia.....I can hardly eat anything.
Breakfast: Oatmeal (Instant) with Fennel Tea and maybe a banana if I'm still hungry.
(can't have peppermint because of my acid reflux)
Lunch: Plain white rice with some cinnamon, soy milk, and stevia. And a Banana.
Very yummy and digests really nice!!
Dinner is pretty much the same thing. I can't eat anything after 5:00pm as per doctor's orders. No meat.....too acidic right now.

I prefer malt o meal which takes 3 minutes to make and for lunch I like soups, breads like zucchini I have made ahead of time, reduced fat PB&J, microwaved sweet potato with smart balance. I eat other lunches once in a while.

It doesn't make you all bloated and gassy??? I would really like to try it again. I used to love it as a kid but haven't eaten it since. But, I'm getting tired of oatmeal. Cream of Wheat kind of doesn't agree with me. Is Malt-o-Meal the same thing???
Are you IBS-D or IBS-C???

It's a sweetener. Awesome stuff!! IBS-Friendly, too!! I get it at any health food store. It comes in a little bottle with a dropper and it's really strong stuff. It's expensive...$14.00 per bottle, but it lasts a long time because you really only need a couple drops of it. I love it. I use that instead of sugar because of my reflux. You should give it a whirl! Good and really sweet! Michelle

I eat Malt-O-Meal too. I like the Maple & Brown sugar kind myself. Yummy. It doesn't cause me any trouble.

lunch is harder to be safe. I stay at home so I may have leftovers from supper (most of the time)... a baked potato with mushrooms, bacos (sometimes), smart balance light, a safe veggie and maybe some chicken breast.... Hmmmm Sometimes I will have an egg sandwich. I just fry an egg white (season it how you want) and put it on safe toast with a tiny bit of smart balance and have some applesauce with it all. I may boil up some veggies & pasta and make a simple sauce like http://www.helpforibs.com/messageboards/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?&Board=recipe&Number=50642 (I make a few subs here and there -- but this is one of my fav stand by sauces)

I usually have either toast, a bagel, or some kind of homemade, IBS-safe quick bread or muffin for breakfast. I try to keep muffins in my freezer so I can just pop them in the micowave and defrost them in the morning if I need something. I'm amazed so many people can eat oatmeal. It makes me feel so full and gassy... not a good way to start the day. I tend to stick to the safest things to start my day on a good note.
For lunch I almost always have a sandwich, either turkey, tuna, or soybut butter and jelly. I always used reduced fat mayo, especially in the tuna salad, and it never bothers me. I usually eat it with some Baked Lays or Quakes and have a cookie for dessert.
I hope that helps.

Breakfast: peppermint and/or fennel or raspberry leaf tea with acacia oatmeal made with applesauce, finely chopped nuts and loads of cinnamon - I gotta have my oatmeal in the mornings
...plus sometimes egg whites scrambled with pureed greens (like spinach, swiss chard + zucchini, or other combos) too
Lunch: sandwich of turkey (on my non vegetarian days, lol) or fake soy "meat", pickles, pickled hot peppers and mustard and baked potato chips on the side OR homemade chili or soup with bread or a baked potato OR leftovers from last night's dinner
...with a banana or applesauce cup, or sometimes a rice krispie square, for dessert
Hope that helps!

I can't do oatmeal either (for all the same reasons)-- and I forgot all about my tuna sandwich with baked lays! That's one of my fav lunch combos!

It's great reading all these ideas! Here's what I eat...
Breakfast: acacia in water, muesli with rice protein powder and warm rice milk (cold liquids make my stomach cramp), and a bananna. If my D is acting up, I stick to plain oatmeal and a bananna. Applesauce with carob powder is good for D.
Lunch: a turkey sandwich on dutch crunch roll, lettuce, tomato and pickle. Or tuna sandwich with lowfat mayo on a plain bagel with Padrino's low-fat tortilla chips. Or PB & J on toasted Spelt bread and applesauce.
Good luck!

Cream of Wheat and Malt o Meal are the same thing; they are easier to digest than oatmeal by far, unless you have problems with wheat. Oatmeal leads to more gas than that sort of pulverized wheat. I am an A with pretty much equal problems with C and D.

I have either a peanut butter and jelly (or pumpkin butter!) sandwiche, hummus on a pumpernickel bagel, soy yogurt and toast, or leftovers from home plus a piece of fruit for both breakfast and lunch. I have acacia first thing in the mornings, plus I drink herbal tea all day long.

We cannot get Stevia over here in the UK - just thought I'd add that into the discussion! If someone knows different then please tell me where I can get it. Thanks - Judith

and you can get it with or without FOS in it. The FOS type is called Stevia Plus, but not everyone is okay with this one.
