Wow!
I have been stable for two years and although have had occasional bad days and some ongoing battles with bloating, on the whole I've felt pretty great and been able to lead a life not controlled by my stomach.
Well two days ago I was hit with a horrible horrible attack that is still going. The pain is awful and has brought back a lot of bad memories. I had honestly forgotten how bad it can be.
For the first time in two years I am back eating the list of foods for "what to eat when you can't eat anything" and am hoping to break the cycle and get back to where I was ASAP.
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm IBS-C but through this attack have not really suffered with the C but have awful awful pains and severe bloating and that constant churning and uneasiness in the stomach.
I'm surprised how quickly the anxiety has returned too. I may have to have a listen to some of the hypno CD's again I think.
Yuk!

Yep. You're on the right track. It's just a setback. Get back in the saddle and keep on going. Remember, you had to take that awful worm medication so that's probably the reason why you destabilized. So take good care of yourself, and hang in there. You'll bounce back! I find that now I'm stable it takes a lot LESS time to re-stabilize than it did originally. Just follow the steps you did before - just take it slowly.
Hugs, Alicia.

in my experience it is easier to stabilize once you have been stable for awhile. "Stable" is a blessing isn't it?

Definitely listen to the hypno CDs again - I was feeling sorta icky yesterday and listened to session 5 right before bed. Today, my appetite is back and I feel stable again. Of course, it didn't hurt that I've not been doing even the smallest cheats on the diet right now.
I agree with the other posts - since you've been stable so long you'll feel better really quickly!
