I checked last night before I left but wow! This thread is awesome now Thanks so much for all your marvellous suggestions. They definitely gave me lots of ideas of what to pack!

Belinda, I'm in Ottawa for the weekend. And guess what? I called ahead to see if there was a microwave either in the room or in the lobby and the answer was no, though there was a fridge in my room, so I packed accordingly. But then when I got here this morning, there was some big mixup with bookings and I ended up with this HUGE room with a big king sized bed and kitchenette - including a sink and a microwave! Which is awesome, though I could've brought so much more stuff if I'd have known (like my morning oatmeal ) No bother though, things are turning out really well and the best part is that I'm not stressed out at all about food or being able to eat what they're serving (which is how it was when I was at this conference last year) because I have a mountain of food back in my room

Thanks again for all the awesome replies (as usual!!) everyone

HAHA! about the acacia--I HAD TO TAKE MINE FROM AMSTERDAM TWICE!! i just brought it in the bag it comes in so its obvious what it is [not coke!]

i preordered a bag before my trip and didnt open it until i was overseas. then i kept it rubberbanned until i could get a BIG ziplock to keep it in. everything worked fine i even got my bags opened/searched [stupid airport rule ] and nothing happened. and besides, you dont look too much like a criminal in your pic! haha

where are you flying to? have fun!

Yeah that's what I did too Ashley - I opened up a new bag and just took that so that it clearly wasn't anything illegal! lol I'm just travelling in-province (London, ON to Ottawa ON) for a conference I'm at this weekend. They didn't open my bags on the way here so I guess everything was ok!

How are you by the way? Haven't heard for you lately
