Nope, I eat them raw unless I feel ambitious and make applesauce (yum!). I haven't eaten much cooked fruit recently, but will probably start nuking up oatmeal and frozen berries as the days get colder...

Alli, Oh I would think so. The peel is certainly softened a
lot. It tears real easy and is easy to chew so I think it
satisfies Heather's requirements for eating IF. -Bob

Hi Kate, Yeah, I just discovered honeycrisps lately. I was
eating braeburns for the most part, and then these honeycrisps
that looked really, and they tasted really good! They're a bit
pricey up here, even coming from Wisconsin no less, but they
are worth it! I didn't really notice any honey like taste
though, but they are much 'crisper' than the other apples I
have tried. -Bob

Kate's right, I think they only cost around 20 bucks in Walmart. -nt- new

You eat an apple and a pear both for lunch? That's a double dose of IF. Do you eat the skins on both of them? Or half the skins on each? Are you cooking yours?

I thought you were eating a banana with either the pear or the apple.

Beth, According to the Northwestern fiber chart, a 3 inch
diameter pear has 2.2 g's of SF and 1.8 of IF which is all in
the skin. I only eat maybe a quarter of the skin and with the
apple at most half usually a bit less depending on how I'm
feeling. Also, according to that chart a 7 inch banana has only
0.7 g's of SF and 2.1 of IF. That's why I switched, plus the
fact that Cyndy said bananas have been rumored to constipate. -Bob

I like Fuji's best! But those Honeycrisps are becoming rivals!!!

Lol! There's an apple for every mood, every purpose!

Confession: I love them and they love me!

I note, however, that the greener ones are the constipating ones.

I eat them when they're brown/spotted...for me, they're in they're prime when they're perfect for banana bread, i.e. black. It's terrible, but I buy bananas at least a week ahead for the next week.

Lol! Pointless ramblings, I know.

Kate, IBS-D.

Hi Cyndy, Uh no, I haven't tried yet. I probably should, there
is a microwave in our department lobby. It sounds like a good
idea with the weather getting much colder here. -Bob
